The Power of Now is now open at SSE’s new renewable’s HQ at One Waterloo Street, Glasgow thanks to The Gate’s powerful launch campaign and exhaustive design process lasting over 6 months.
The free exhibition details what SSE are doing to make renewable energy at a time when fossil fuels are at a premium. With the idea that they are working to make tomorrow’s energy today, The Power of Now showcases SSE’s achievements as part the Scottish Hydro Centre for Renewable Excellence in Glasgow.
The Gate worked on the branding and design for a series of ambitious exhibits, featuring a walk-in wind turbine, AV screens, a floor-to-ceiling ‘Smart Grid’ and interactive pieces. (Not forgetting the state of the art Mitsubishi I-Miev electric car hanging on the ceiling! We also constructed the ‘story’ that went along with it an inspiring call to action to people to change the way they use energy now, for the better.
On top of that, there is also an ‘Electric Garage’ where electric car owners can top up their cars, or test new ones. This groundbreaking project is unique and signifies Scotland’s ongoing commitment to using and creating renewable energy from its own natural resources.
At its launch, Fifth Gear presenter Quentin Willson said he was ‘amazed’ by the exhibition and Electric Garage. Proof that The Power of Now is having the desired effect so if you’re in Glasgow, don’t forget to go along and see the Gate’s latest powerful project.
